If you are reading this, congratulations you are in the best alliance there will ever be - KillerRaptors
We use discord to communicate with each other and to help keep ourselves motivated to play this game. The discord is new to some of you and I will try to explain the different features of discord itself and some of the things us as KillerRaptors use it for.
First of all you can use discord by downloading the app or you can use it on the computer without having to download anything.
One of the most important things about using discord on your phone is to manage your notification settings to not have the community's messages annoy you. On every different section of the alliance there will be a bell icon. Press this if you want to shut off sounds and pop ups for a specific section you are not interested in. I heavily recommend you turn off notifications for the DNA trading section as that is the most popular one and will have messages coming in non stop. Those using the mobile version of discord will have to look for the 3 dots menu which has options like pinned posts and notifications hidden in it.
Do not block notifications from your leader. This can lead to misunderstandings if you do not respond to @ tags and seen as non-participation. @tags are a very useful way to get someone to look at a topic you want to show them. Simply type a @ symbol and follow it with the first letter of that person's name and select their name from the suggestions it shows you. This person will now be notified that you want to show them something.
EDIT: A great picture contribution from our members! To see who has been trying to @ message you, you press the @ symbol located there by your name on the phone version. The computer version will have that symbol at the top right corner.
Pinned posts - Each different discord section you use will have a PIN icon that when pressed will reveal important highlighted messages. Make sure you check these for every section because there might be important information in them. In the general chat, this will be where you will find the discord rules and it will be a short cut to look at the featured creatures for that week and the schedule for the strikes of that week. Pages that hold contest will most likely have the rules described on a pinned post to make it easier and avoid making you scroll top the beginning of that topic.
Customization - Some people have not yet customized their avatar for their discord account. Do not leave it blank. Put a nice picture in there to show us what you are about and to help people get to know you and remember who they were doing trades with.
Your discord username can be changed into anything you would like but it would make more sense if you had your game name or some indicator to tell us which member you are in the game.
Staff - Right now there is only your professorkp as any sort of moderator. Private message him if you have any concerns, suggestions or just want to talk about anything. The members with the yellow username are event coordinators. They are here to help us make tournaments and other fun activities. They do not hold any responsibilities of helping clean up the chat. If someone is ever causing trouble and no one is around to put a stop to it, just do the best you can to ignore the person and any inappropriate materials they might post. Just do your best to troll them back and roast them hard as a community until that person can be banned.
Rules - The rules are pretty generic and just there for show. Have common sense. Swearing is not forbidden but it is best if you used it in moderation or saved it for the NSFW section. We do have children in our alliance and I will not remove them. Our 10 year old member is doing better in the alliance missions than most of the adults.
Roles - The different colors on your username are called roles. In our alliance this will most likely be used to place you in a staff position or the basic role KillerRaptors will give you access to our hidden chat for only our alliance to use. The blue usernames are not staff positions. They are given to the best battlers in our alliance who have been selected to take part in special tournaments. The roles are designed to reflect the in game rarity of common and going all the way up to unique which is the leader.
Game help
We have resources to help you take your game to the next level. Whether you are new to the game or think you are the best, you can still read our #tips-and-tricks section every now and then to learn about game mechanics and find links to things such as the charts for dinosaur spawn zones.
Current news in the game can be discussed in the #weekly -strategies-news section. This is the place to share strategies on how to defeat a strike tower, talk about what featured creatures to get and to talk about any exciting events ludia throws at us like global missions or alliance rushes.
Team suggestions . Post here if you want to give someone advice on which dinosaurs to put on their team or to seek advice on your own team. If you think something could be better or one of the dinosaurs is not performing well enough then head over to this section asap.
Social
The discord exists to help us have a better way to chat and to fill the time, to not get bored of playing the game. Some of the things you can do is check out the #hobbies page and talk about any of your interests. For those of you who are more mature, you can request to join the NSFW chat to not have to watch what you say around the children and just relax with other adults that hunt dinos.
Special sections
DNA trading!
This is the big draw of our discord. Trading is not mandatory in our alliance by any means. It is a great way to talk to others and convince them to fill your DNA requests much more than you trying to have it filled by just luck. Arrange a trade with someone . Post what dinosaur you are looking for and see if someone wants to trade. If you see someone asking for a particular dinosaur and you know you have some of that DNA to spare then do not be shy to @ tag them and see if they can spare what you want.
This section is really noisy. Again, I recommend that you turn off notifications for this one by using the bell icon.
Request 'o clock! is what I like to call the busiest time of the day. At around 4:00pm PST is when everyone's cooldown on requests resets and ALL the requests will suddenly pour in. Use this timeframe wisely to join the crowds and have all eyes on your requests and the most people online to trade with. I suggest that you are not the first one to make a request. Wait for about 5 people to make a DNA request so that yours is not all the way at the top and hard to scroll up to see it.
Besides request 'o clock, you can request a little bit before this time to also be the only request in the chat and have no competition for views. Please do not spam the in game chat during request 'o clock. Just use the discord if you want to talk to somebody. If you write in the game chat you will ruin other people's DNA requests by hiding them with your wall of texts and the game glitches make it hard for people to scroll up.
Special events - We love to have tournaments and other fun activities here in our alliance!
These sections will hold the on going events that you can still join. If one of the events is not to your liking then there will be another event soon enough that might appeal to you. Every event has prizes for winning as well as rewards for participating. Rewards are generally only for KillerRaptors.
We give out 'alliance points' which can be redeemed for real prizes from the alliance store blog page if your points are high enough to trade for the prize you want.
Read more about the points and look at the prizes themselves here:

This article would not have been possible without help from a mysterious hero who helped organize all the topics and make the photo instructions. Thank you.
