Jurassic World Alive EPICS tournament results

People loved our RARES only tournament. Posting about it caused me to get several join requests. Alliance members keep asking me when the next RARES tournament will be.  Have some patience we will do that again soon. This time we celebrated the release of 4 new EPICS being added in the 1.6 update. This is really the only way high level players will ever get to use some of them as their DNA is either really hard to get from incubators or for whoever doesn't like to level up EPICS past level 15.

My events are not just limited to my alliance members. This time we had guests from reddit decide to join us and it made for a full tournament bracket and excitement for my alliance to battle new people. Thank you redditors for entering the event.

In the first match we see both teams using the new creature Edmontoguanodon. I definitely wanted to see the new dinos in action.  Diplodocus is a weird choice and no one else had it. The Brachiosaur on the other team is probably a stronger choice from the two. I brought it to just have fun and trap threats with Pinning Strike to make sure they get taken out.  Gambler made excellent use stunners in his team to score extra hits. The match came down to a T rex face off and it was over so suddenly with a critical hit !  Ouch.  Winner: Gambler4707

Second match. Wilson and Timothy. I do not have pictures of their teams but both are excellent players.

Third match. Blacksunshine VS Cashinit. Our first appearance of the new immune packing EPIC Proceratomimus. Both teams feature bleeders. Alanqa seems a little useless in this fight as on switch in it will either get hit with a wound, a stun/nullify or a shield shattering move from Gorgosuchus. Pyroraptor was a good choice for outspeeding and annoying tanky things like Sino and Stegoceratops who do not have superiority strike. Blacksunshine chooses not to use T-rex. Instead going for big hits using Erlikosaur.  Winner: Blacksunshine

Match 4. Michelle VS Ezeki. Both teams have great balance of speedy creatures and tanky things.
Ezeki chooses to not use any bleeders but instead has the really annoying Edmontoguandon who kept healing. It was a good match with a lot of switching out. Winner: Michelle

Match 5. kisha VS leedanleo. Here for originality we see Amargacephalus and Concavenator!

I do not know how this match went but I can see both players are trying to stun each other.  Winner: leedanleo

Match 6. Coen VS Pikachu. No information is available from this match or the teams. Winner: Coen

Match 7. King_Meme VS _Green_Shadow123. Ah Stygimoloch makes another appearance. This is a first for Ankylosaurus. Mike's team is very defensive or very powerful, nothing in between. Fortunately for KingMeme the defensive creatures and Blue are too easy to read and he made great plays with Alanqa. Winner: King_Meme

Match 8 InfamousMajora VS ZeroGuage. What a surprise here we have a Nodopatotitan!

Both players have bleeders. I like Zero's switch options of swap in wound and full counterattack.

Where is the T-rex? Majora's team looks balanced and Stigymoloch was a great choice to throw off other fast attackers. Winner: InfamousMajora

Intermission

For the most part everyone stayed away from the old tier list's survivor category. Secondotosaur's Immunity would have made no difference here it was still too slow good job to everyone for not choosing it or Koolasuchus.  Round 1 seemed to come down to whoever brought more bleeders.

Round 2 - Match #1  Gambler4709 VS Timothy. I do not have the picture of Timothy's team but it looks like it was a close match and Alanqa was just too overwhelming. Winner: Timothy

Round 2 - Match #2 Michelle VS Blacksunshine.  Blacksunshine predicted and lead wonderfully with Spinosaurus Gen2. Stegoceratops tired its best for a comeback. Erlikosaur dominated the rest of the match just being too fast. Winner: Blacksunshine

Round 2 - Match #3 Coen VS leedanleo. Nothing exciting here. A forfeit  from being too busy. Winner: Coen 

Round 2 - Match #4 King_Meme VS InfamousMajora. According to both players it was a really close match and it came down to one trying to fake out the other with switching and it just didn't pay off. Winner: KingMeme

Random picture. The long necks crashed and burned in round 2. We do not see any for the rest of the tournament. 

Round 3 Semifinals - Match #1 Timothy VS Blacksunshine. Nothing is know about Timothy's team besides having Alanqa. If Blacksunshine kept the same strategy of leading with something fast and switching out then it must have been tricky. Winner: Blacksunshine.

Match #2 Coen VS KingMeme. Winner: KingMeme . I'm not posting the same photo by itself.

Such mysterious teams in round 3 there is not much to talk about.

Finals!

King_Meme came through to give us an exciting finals being able to record his match!

See for yourselves.  Meme's team he was dealt looks awful. He drew mostly vanilla dinos. Things would have been so different if he had his Stygimoloch or Spinotahraptor to lead with. Blacksunshine could not have asked for a better lead. Nothing Meme had could counter Stegoceratops effectively.

Congratulations to both of you for making it this far. Through your match I was able to see that next time we need to do best 2 out of 3 for the final match or maybe for everyone.

Next time we will have better coverage of the event and have everyone sign in their team photos.

It did not seem like EPICS only was as fun as rares only. We had a bigger pool of 42 rares to choose from and only 34 EPICS.  Thank you all for joining us, specially the guests from reddit.

Our next events we have are not battle related. We have sign ups still open for the dinos valentines day poems open until the February 13th  and on the 14th we are having a DART shooting contest.
